How to Run the Recall Preset Drill

Select Recall in the preset drills and start its fixed sequence: an 8000 Hz tone sounds for 0.8 seconds, with a three-second gap between repetitions, for three repetitions. Begin at low system volume. Recall shares a total allowance of three drill runs per day with Attention and Settle, resetting at midnight UTC.

Choose Recall from the drill controls

Open the preset drill area and select Recall. Check the name before starting, since the app also has Attention and Settle drills. Recall is a timed pattern with fixed values. It is separate from choosing the 8 kHz frequency preset in the main whistle controls. That frequency button selects a tone setting; the Recall drill supplies the repetition pattern. The app has three preset drills, with no custom cue builder or macros. Use the named drill when you want its stated sequence rather than trying to time each sound manually.

  • Recall: 8000 Hz, 0.8-second sounds, three repetitions.
  • Attention: 12000 Hz, with a different sound pattern.
  • Settle: 4000 Hz for two seconds.

Set a low playback level first

Lower the device's system volume before starting the sequence. Keep its speaker away from ears, and stop if anyone appears uncomfortable. The software gain starts at 10 percent and cannot exceed 25 percent. That percentage is not a measurement of loudness in the room. System volume and the speaker also affect what comes out. Do not raise the volume merely because a response is absent. The displayed frequency describes the generated signal. It does not verify the speaker's response. Many phone and laptop speakers cannot reproduce ultrasonic frequencies, and a higher setting is not proof of usable sound output.

Follow the sound pattern and stop when needed

Start Recall through its drill control. Each tone lasts 0.8 seconds. A three-second gap separates one repetition from the next, and the sequence contains three repetitions. The quiet intervals belong to the pattern; they are not a request for another start press. The tone uses a short, ten-millisecond cosine fade. Press Escape to stop when you are not typing. The app also stops sound when the tab becomes hidden, on an interruption, or when it receives a devicechange signal. Browser support for that signal is incomplete. Stop playback yourself before changing speakers or connecting headphones, because every audio route change may not be detected.

    • Let the gaps pass without starting an extra sequence.
    • Use the stop control if you need to end playback.
    • Check the output device before any later run.

Read the allowance and results separately

Recall, Attention, and Settle draw from the same daily total of three runs. Switching drill names does not give each one a separate allowance. The reset follows UTC midnight, which may differ from midnight where you live. The four-second reaction burst is another app flow. It ends with reacted or noReaction choices and keeps the last three dated outcomes locally. Do not assume that finishing Recall automatically creates one of those records. The preset name also does not establish a training result. This sequence supplies sound timing; your observations remain separate. For quiet reference between runs, the app includes twenty text lessons that you can search and share.

      1. Lower system volume, place the speaker away from ears, and check the current output device.
      2. Select Recall from the three preset drills and review the shared daily allowance.
      3. Start once and allow the three 0.8-second sounds and their three-second gaps to play.
      4. Stop at any sign of discomfort, then review the app state before considering another run.
Is selecting 8 kHz the same as running Recall?

No. The frequency preset selects 8000 Hz in the whistle controls. Recall adds its fixed duration, gaps, and three repetitions through the drill control.

Can I run each preset three times daily?

The limit is three runs in total across Recall, Attention, and Settle. It resets at midnight UTC, rather than local midnight.

Will changing my audio output always stop the drill?

No. Recall plays an 8000 Hz tone lasting 0.8 seconds three times, with a gap of three seconds between its repetitions.. Stop manually before switching the output.
